Rodrigo Pino Vargas is presented in the film as a community leader in Arica. His role is informal, but since 2004 his engagement in the Boliden case has been of great importance to the people in the affected communities and their struggle for health and justice.
– Initially, my interest was raised from my profession as an anthropologist. I wanted to understand why and how people had been affected by Boliden’s toxic waste for many years.
Rodrigo is now working to support people engaging and organizing for a struggle that seems to have no end but still needs to go on.
